Ozone has been used to purify water for around 50 years now. It is a very effective means of treating bacteria in your water. It is produced by a special lamp which gives off ultraviolet light which then converts oxygen molecules to ozone. This is done entirely inside the ozone chamber in the ozone generator. It is very mild and gentle on all pool equipment and spa equipment. In fact, it is one of the most gentle ways to clean your pool or spa. It is also very gentle on your eyes and skin! Not only is it gentle but it is a natural way to purify, it reduces ordour in your water and prolongs your equipment life. Using ozone to purify your water leads to less use of chlorine and /or bromine as well. Ozone kills the majority of the bacteria leaving you to use less chemicals altogether. Your water quality will be much better using ozone and a few chemicals together. Many people say their skin actually feels softer after being in ozonated water. Most hot tubs made today are also ozone ready to make installing one at a later date, much easier.
