Filters DE Grids

DE is short for Diatomaceous earth. DE filters serve as little sieves and filter our water debris. This is best described as "porous powder with microscopic openings that when magnified, look like tiny sponges." Water can pass through these sponges but debris, even tiny particles, can'y get through. Dirt, algae, dust, oils, amongst other particles are all filtered through DE filters. These filters are also cleaned through backwashing just like the sand filters. They are then reloaded with more DE powder to keep filtering properly. DE is much finer than sand so it is able to filter smaller particles than even a sand filter. They are also relatively low maintenance. These filters have been nicknamed, the water polisher!!
