Electrical Switches

Hot tubs are equipped with two types of switches, air switch and an electrical switch. Unlike the air switch which uses air to power up the switch, the electrical switch uses, electricity! The switch very basically breaks the electrical current or diverts it from one conductor to another and sequentially tripping relays. This provides power to the electrically operated components of your hot tub. It does the same job as an air switch by operating the electrical components of your spa such as the lights, motor, pumps and jets, etc. These are typically located on the outside of the hot tub and away from the water.
